How I spent my Valentine’s day – part 2
After the Slum2school outreach which I talked about yesterday , I caught up with one of my girlfriends whom I hadn’t seen in a while. It was a really good visit filled with plenty gist and laughter and we brainstormed together on what would be the perfect outfit for my date, dress or jeans (because I didn’t know where exactly we were going to).
So my boyfriend picked me up around past 7 and I must say I wish everyday was Valentine’s day because I had all the treatment that ladies receive on proper dates – opening of the car door, pulling out the seat and all, Chivalry isn’t dead after all is it?
It wasn’t until we were almost half way into the journey that he agreed to tell me the name of the restaurant and sincerely even I (social prefect) hadn’t heard of it and it was in Lekki phase 1. There was slight traffic heading towards the toll gate and also at the phase 1 gate being that it was Valentine’s evening and a lot of people were out. A lot of the places we passed were really crowded and we were silently praying that Otres Restaurant would not be fully booked.
Otres is a very nice restaurant located in Plot 7 Wole Olateju Lekki phase 1, that serves Nigerian dishes in a very serene and exquisite environment. I was really impressed upon getting there. Firstly it was not crowded and I was really glad about that, then we had so many nice seating options, as its boasts of two floors and we chose to sit upstairs. Their meals are very delicious trust me (coming from a retired foodie *covers face*) and there are a number of dishes you can select from to have your complete 3 course meal. However, by the time we were having our main course, we were too full to order any dessert; the food is very filling, so I suggest you go hungry. I also commend their customer service, as our waiter (Peter) was very nice.
So, if you are looking for a lovely restaurant to have delish Nigerian dishes in, i’ll recommend Otres for you. However though, I would have liked some cool music playing in the background, considering the fact that it was Valentine’s day you know.
Love from the Social Prefect.
